That is where you come in.Toronto, Ontario, Canada (Hybrid)The Cybersecurity Advisor ensures consistency of project solutions that are cyber‑secure by design. According to defined cybersecurity policy, technical roadmap, and customer requirements/needs, the Advisor leads and provides guidance for all project cybersecurity activities, ensuring the project adheres to Hitachi Rail, Signalling and Rail Solutions (SRS) and customer cybersecurity requirements. The role also defines, reviews, manages, and in some cases executes the cybersecurity activities (security management plans, requirements, risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, etc.).Key AccountabilitiesOversee and maintain the cybersecurity process, defining security activities in the project/product development lifecycle including plans, requirements, design, risk assessment, testing, and vulnerability management.Adopt industry standards and methodologies for cybersecurity assessment and project development.Align and contribute to the Hitachi Rail SRS Cybersecurity guidelines.Assess bids and bid requirements, incorporating them into design and cost options for projects.Provide specialty engineering as consultation services for project and product, conducting risk assessments and technical vulnerability assessments.Interface with the Global Business Unit Ground Transportation Systems for corporate guidance on industry standards, following Hitachi Rail group processes and policies.Key RequirementsSkillsExpertise in project and software development lifecycle, gates, and process‑oriented work.Good communication skills, able to communicate complex technical matters effectively and succinctly with senior management.ExperienceMore than 5 years in cybersecurity architecture, design, risk assessment, and development.EducationUniversity degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.Technical/Specialized KnowledgeFamiliarity with cybersecurity processes, standards, and industry best practices related to engineering and software development.CertificationsCISSP security designation or equivalent preferred.IEC 62443 expertise is a plus.LanguageFluency in English (written and spoken).Preferred QualificationsAbility to make public presentations and demonstrations to customers.Excellent writing skills, with experience developing technical documentation and publishing papers.Ability to assess team competencies and provide guidance.Working experience with security standards: ISO 27001/2, NIST SP 800 series, IEC 62443.Product development, industrial engineering, and industrial control systems expertise.Salary Range CAD $135,384 – $173,844BenefitsHealth, Dental, and Vision plans – 100% of premiums company‑paid.Retirement Savings Plan with company contribution and match, no vesting period.Company‑paid holidays – 3 weeks of vacation, holiday closure, personal emergency leave days and sick days.Maternity/Parental/Adoption top‑up pay.Annual Incentive Plan.Company‑provided Life Insurance, STD, and Employee Assistance Plan.We welcome and value differences in background, age, gender, sexuality, family status, disability, race, nationality, ethnicity, religion, and worldview.
