Work Environment The Royal Military College of Canada is a military university offering programs in Social Sciences, Humanities, Science and Engineering. Faculty roles include teaching, research and commitment to national defence. You need (essential for the job) Education Graduation with a degree from a recognized post‑secondary institution with acceptable specialization related to the duties of the position and competence in teaching and/or research. For positions requiring a master’s or doctoral degree the following alternatives may be accepted when combined with an acceptable bachelor’s degree: • Research or scholarly studies constituting a significant contribution to the discipline; • Professional practice recognized for its high quality. When the educational qualifications are met through these alternatives, they are valid for the position in question only. Experience E1 – Experience teaching at the university level in one of the following fields or related disciplines to the duties of the position: Civil Engineering: Water Resources, Structures, Geotechnical Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering: Materials, Strength of Materials and Fatigue, Mechanical Structures and Airframes, Aerodynamics and Aeronautics Electrical Engineering: Sensors and Processing, Power Systems and Control Systems, Microelectronics Computer Engineering: Applied Artificial Intelligence (robotics, cyber), Cyber Security, Embedded and Real‑Time Systems Chemistry and Chemical Engineering: Biology or biochemistry Ammunition Engineering: Ammunition, explosives and ballistics, Weapons Systems Physics and Space Science: Materials Science, Space Science or Astrophysics Mathematics and Computer Science: Data Analytics, Operations Research, Artificial Intelligence Management: General Management, Marketing, Human Resources Management, Project management Military Psychology and Leadership: Social, Personality; Industrial‑Organizational, Military, EDI; Other sub‑disciplines including but not limited to Developmental, Forensic, Clinical History: Military History English Culture and Communication: World Literatures and Cultures, Indigenous cultural studies, Communication, writing, and new media Political Science and Economics: International relations French Literature and Culture: Media and digital propaganda E2 – Experience conducting research at the university level with a track record of publishing results in refereed journals or academic presses in one of the above teaching fields or related disciplines. E3 – Experience, including professional experience related to the duties of the position, that demonstrates evidence of service with mature adult learners or similar environment. (Service is defined as participation in the organization of a conference, evaluation of scientific articles and other elements related to the academic community.) Asset Qualifications Education AED1 – Graduation with a Master’s or Doctoral degree from a recognized post‑secondary institution with an acceptable specialization related to the duties of the position and competence in teaching and/or research. (Same alternatives for achieving qualification as above.) AED2 – Graduation with a Doctoral degree from a recognized post‑secondary institution with an acceptable specialization related to the duties of the position and competence in teaching and/or research. Experience AE1 – Experience in leadership positions or human resources management in a university environment. AE2 – Experience in supervision of undergraduate and graduate student projects and theses. AE3 – Experience in developing a funded research program that provides value, contributes, supports and is consistent with research strengths within the department. AE4 – Experience in research or in fieldwork related to the duties of the position. Occupational Certification Applies to positions within Faculty of Engineering only: Licensed Professional Engineer in Canada or eligible for registration within 3 years of employment.
