About The Role This role is a key contributor to our overall strategy and plays a vital part in attracting, recruiting, onboarding, and engaging top talent across our offices in Halifax, Lévis, Ottawa, Gatineau, LaSalle and Victoria. As an individual contributor, this position goes beyond traditional full‑cycle recruitment. The Talent Partner acts as a trusted advisor to leaders at every level and is responsible for developing and executing both pre‑hire and post‑hire strategies to ensure an exceptional candidate experience while supporting engagement and retention. What We Do At Weir Since 1953, Weir has operated and managed the Naval Engineering Test Establishment (NETE), a DND facility located in LaSalle with operations in Halifax, Lévis, Victoria and Ottawa/Gatineau. Over 460 personnel are currently employed at NETE, supporting the Royal Canadian Navy and DND with test and evaluation services in various technical areas. Weir is a global leader in mining technology for a sustainable future, working to extract resources more efficiently and sustainably. What You’ll Do Take full ownership of end‑to‑end recruitment for multiple roles and departments, including positions in IT, Engineering, and many more. Partner with leaders to define hiring needs and ideal candidate profiles, draft, publish, and manage job postings, sourcing tools (Indeed and LinkedIn Recruiter), pre‑screen candidates, and track applications within Workday. Comfortably experiment with emerging AI capabilities responsibly and measured. Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates, ensuring a professional, transparent, and engaging experience. Guide candidates throughout the recruitment process and ensure a smooth onboarding experience. What You’ll Bring We value what you can do—not just where you’ve been. If you meet the goals of the role, we want to hear from you. Must‑haves 3‑5 years of recruitment experience leading end‑to‑end recruitment efforts. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience. Strong sense of organization, attention to detail, and ability to set priorities effectively. Strong verbal and written communication skills; this includes the ability to make recommendations and influence outcomes. For all positions in Québec, proficiency in French and English, both spoken and written, is mandatory. English is required due to regular interaction with colleagues and partners outside Québec.
