About the Opportunity Genesis is seeking an exceptional Project Director to lead the execution of a major power generation project in Alberta, Canada. This Direct Hire role is a high-profile, multi-year assignment requiring a proven leader with extensive experience delivering large-scale combined-cycle power projects and managing complex EPC construction programs. This individual will provide executive-level leadership for all aspects of project execution, construction, commissioning, safety, schedule, budget, workforce development, and stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated history of successfully delivering utility-scale power generation projects involving large gas turbine installations and balance-of-plant systems. Key Responsibilities Serve as the overall Project Director responsible for safe, successful execution of a large-scale power generation project. Lead all project phases from mobilization through construction, commissioning, startup, and project closeout. Direct and manage multidisciplinary project teams including construction management, engineering, project controls, procurement, quality, and commissioning personnel. Establish project execution strategies, organizational structure, staffing plans, and performance objectives. Provide executive oversight of project schedules, budgets, productivity, risk management, and commercial performance. Lead construction activities involving: Combined Cycle Power Plants Cogeneration Facilities Large Frame Gas Turbine Installations Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs) Steam Turbine Generators Balance of Plant Systems Build, develop, and mentor large site organizations and leadership teams. Interface with owners, stakeholders, regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and senior executive leadership. Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, quality, and operational standards. Drive a culture of safety excellence, accountability, and project execution discipline. Lead project reporting, forecasting, and executive-level communications. Required Qualifications Experience 20+ years of progressive experience in power generation construction and project delivery. Minimum 10+ years in senior leadership roles Proven experience leading utility-scale Combined Cycle Power Plant projects. Demonstrated experience overseeing installation and startup of large gas turbines. Extensive experience with cogeneration and thermal generation facilities. Strong EPC project execution background. Proven ability to manage projects exceeding $500M+ in value. Lead high-performing teams through complex project challenges. Communicate effectively with executive leadership and project stakeholders. Deliver projects safely, on schedule, and within budget. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Professional Engineering designation (P.Eng.) preferred. Experience working in Canada or North America on major power projects. Experience with utility owners, independent power producers (IPP), or EPC contractors.
