Software Engineer Directly to CEO of Sophon (Located at Guangzhou / Shanghai) About Sophon Sophon is an AI‑native enterprise operating system. It integrates all corporate data sources—email, instant messaging, business systems—processing every inbound and outbound message and building a persistent memory and knowledge base from each interaction. Think of it as a version of you with unlimited time and perfect information: drafting replies, managing decisions, and coordinating teams. About the CEO Stanford Physics + Computer Science (BS/MS). Founded first company at 18, achieving $100M+ ARR in year one. Mission: make AI the true operational brain of every company—not a side tool, but the core engine. The team is small, fast‑paced, and flat. The CEO is hands‑on with technical direction and code, with no layers of bureaucracy. What You’ll Do Sophon’s core engineering challenge: Unstructured input to AI processing to Structured output to Business action. The CEO has built the system’s skeleton. Your role is to bring it to production level and own long‑term architectural direction. Who We’re Looking For Above all: intelligence and curiosity. You don’t need prior AI experience or a specific tech stack. What matters is that when you encounter something unfamiliar, your instinct is to understand it deeply—not to sidestep it. Must‑haves Bachelor’s degree from a top Chinese 985 university or a leading overseas institution (non‑negotiable). Portfolio: demonstrate a project you built independently, runnable and explainable, including architecture decisions and pitfalls. No portfolio = no consideration. Problem‑solving instinct: trace issues to root cause—read source code, debug across layers, understand “why,” not just patch over. Self‑driven: if stuck for two days without guidance, you find a path forward or ship a simplified version. Waiting for answers is not acceptable. Nice‑to‑haves AI engineering experience (RAG, vector databases, LLM API integration). Experience building internal efficiency platforms, enterprise automation systems, or workflow tools. Open‑source contributions. Independent product experience from 0-1 (personal tools count). Multilingual ability. Interview Process Resume → Direct video conversation. Live demo of your work and discussion of your thought process. No written tests, no multiple HR rounds. You’ll be given a real system problem to think through—no rote memorization. Who Should Not Apply Those who only write PRDs and wait for others to implement. Demo‑only builders who cannot maintain or scale systems. Engineers who require a complete spec before starting. People who need constant pushing to move forward. #J-18808-Ljbffr
