Electrical Manager Department: MaintenanceReports to: Maintenance Manager/Director of OperationsSUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES As the Electrical Manager, you are responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all Mt Seymour electrical systems, including ski lifts and mountain infrastructure. You will lead and support a team of electricians and apprentices, oversee maintenance programs, and ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring strong technical expertise, sound decision‑making, and the ability to work in a dynamic outdoor environment.RESPONSIBILITIES Leadership & Team OversightSupervise, mentor, and support a team of electricians and apprenticesPlan, prioritize, and assign daily and seasonal workloadsSupport hiring, training, scheduling, and performance managementPromote and enforce a strong safety culture across the departmentElectrical Operations & MaintenanceOversee all electrical maintenance and repair activities across Mt Seymour systems, including ski liftsEnsure reliability and keep all electrical systems running smoothlyDevelop, implement, and manage preventative maintenance programsProvide hands‑on support troubleshooting complex electrical and control system issuesProjects & InfrastructureLead electrical projects including system upgrades, installations, and capital improvementsCoordinate with contractors, engineers, and regulatory bodiesAssist in long‑term planning, budgeting, and lifecycle management of electrical assetsIdentify opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability, and cost controlCompliance & SafetyEnsure all work complies with the Canadian Electrical Code and applicable regulationsMaintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and system performanceEnsure compliance with safety programs including confined space, and working at heightsOversee documentation, permits, and inspection requirementsOperational SupportSupport shipping/receiving of electrical materials and inventory managementEnsure high‑quality workmanship while maintaining cost‑effectiveness QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCEInterprovincial Red Seal Electrician (Industrial or Construction)Class B FSR certification (or willingness to obtain, supported by employer)5+ years of experience as a ticketed electrician, preferably in an industrial or resort environmentPrevious leadership or supervisory experience is strongly preferredSki‑lift experience and working with passenger ropeways (e.g. Doppelmayr systems) is a strong assetExperience operating a snowmobile in a ski resort settingStrong troubleshooting skills with motor controls, PLCs, and AC/ DC drivesExperience with high voltage systems and protection devicesREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & CERTIFICATIONSStrong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical CodeValid WHMIS certificateValid Confined Space Entry certificationComfortable working at heights (50 + ft towers)Strong organizational and time management skillsAbility to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasksComfortable operating snowmobilesTERMS OF EMPLOYMENTFull‑time, year‑round positionSalary range: $44‑58 k (based on experience)50 % of employee benefit costsRRSP ContributionUniform & Tool AllowanceComplimentary seasons pass and shuttle bus passAccess to industry discounts and perksOpportunities for training and professional development#J-18808-Ljbffr
