Headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, United Pacific Projects (UPP) is rapidly growing inline inspection (ILI) provider serving pipe and oil and gas pipeline operators around the world. Division: Operations Position Summary The Inventory Control / ILI Shop Technician plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of UPP. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory control of inspection tool parts, equipment, and consumables, while also assisting with the preparation, assembly, and maintenance of ILI tools and support equipment. The ideal candidate is self-starting, detail-oriented, safety-focused, and mechanically inclined, with a solid understanding of field and shop operations within the pipeline inspection industry. Essential Functions Inventory Control & Logistics (60-70% of Role) Receive, record, spot check QA/QC and organize incoming parts, components, and consumables for ILI operations. Track all serialized ILI tool components, spare parts, and consumable items using the internal inventory management system. Assist management team in vetting new suppliers and ensuring compliance with part specifications Maintain accurate stock levels and coordinate with Operations for reorders and vendor returns. Prepare and manage shipping and receiving documentation for international ILI tool mobilizations and demobilizations. Support logistics for field deployments, ensuring all required parts and equipment are properly packaged, labeled, and documented. • ILI Support (30-40% of Role) Assist in assembling, disassembling, cleaning, and inspecting ILI tools and support equipment. Support technicians in tool configuration, calibration, and readiness checks prior to mobilization. Maintain organized work area. Record tool maintenance activities, calibration data, and component usage in tracking systems. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary technical or mechanical training preferred. 1–3 years of experience in inventory management, logistics, or within the oil & gas or pipeline industry. Knowledge of ILI tools, NDT equipment, or pipeline inspection processes is a strong asset. Previous experience working with an automotive-type parts system is an asset. Experience with shipping and receiving procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory management or ERP software. Strong mechanical aptitude, organizational skills, and attention to detail. Ability to lift up to 23 kg and perform physical tasks safely.
