Position Overview As our MES Technical Lead, IT you will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of digital manufacturing and production information systems to meet evolving business needs. You will partner closely with internal stakeholders to gather and translate functional requirements into scalable solutions that enhance production capabilities and streamline business processes. In this hands‑on role, you will drive process optimization initiatives, define target architectures, and oversee the development of control and testing procedures. Your work will also include leading the implementation of new capabilities, supporting application consolidation and upgrades, guiding data migration activities, and ensuring systems are effectively configured to deliver operational value, all while collaborating with cross‑functional teams and reporting to the Senior Manager, Information Technology, Commercial Operations. Your Day to Day Leading technical and functional teams throughout project lifecycles. Performing hands‑on configuration in application modules and enforcing MES configuration standards. Collecting, reviewing, and prioritizing business requirements. Recommending ways to optimize existing systems and ensuring harmonization with ERP, QMS, timekeeping, and other systems. Architecting and designing manufacturing solutions to meet business requirements. Facilitating meetings with stakeholders, project teams, and external partners. Streamlining business processes to improve operational efficiency. Diagnosing, troubleshooting, resolving, and testing problems in production systems. Ensuring system security best practices are followed. Promoting data integrity and solving data consistency issues. Providing technical leadership to project delivery teams. Ensuring solution integrity through quality assurance practices. Training end‑users on new processes and solutions. Recruiting, developing, and mentoring team members. Coordinating and leading external partners and consultants. Leading and collaborating in teams with differing needs towards a shared goal. Demonstrating project leadership skills and techniques. Required Qualifications Direct hands‑on experience with MES systems such as iBase‑t Solumina. Strong understanding of MES best practices and how to maximize out‑of‑the‑box capabilities. Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience. Knowledge of ERP, Timekeeping, and QMS systems preferred. Experience capturing business requirements, developing solution designs, planning and conducting data migrations, information system harmonization, and portfolio shaping. Strong understanding of project, portfolio, organizational change management, waterfall, and agile techniques. Experience participating with a PMO, business steering committee, or similar. Excellent technical architecture and technical support documentation skills. Excellent in preparing technical and executive‑level presentations and diagrams. Salary Base Salary Range (Ontario): $90,000 – $140,000 per year, based on market factors and candidate qualifications. Max possible compensation includes additional components such as annual cash incentive and full benefits package.
