The Payroll & Sales Compensation Manager is responsible for the end-to-end payroll administration of Head Office employees as well as the USA variable compensation program for Sales agents. Partnering with Sales Ops, this role has a particular focus on performance-driven compensation structures, including sales data validation, incentive calculations, and payout execution. Ultimately, this role is responsible for the validation and execution of compensation logic for the US Variable Pay Program, ensuring all earnings are accurate, compliant, and aligned with company performance. Operating at the intersection of HR, Finance, and Operations, this role is a critical control point for payroll accuracy, compensation governance, and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities 1. Head Office Payroll Processing & Oversight End-to-end biweekly payroll accountability for employees in Canada and U.S - including governance frameworks, approvals, reconciliations, statutory remittances, and year-end reporting (T4). Maintain payroll and HRIS system databases (ADP, BambooHR), updating all staff changes and system upgrade, configuration changes, and ongoing process optimization. Escalation ownership for payroll, benefits, and leave issues — including root-cause analysis and corrective action. Work with HR to ensure all new hires and terminations are processed accurately and on time. 2. Variable Compensation Management Own end-to-end US variable payroll compensation program, including sales data validation, incentive calculations, and payout execution. Execute rigorous controls and reconciliations ensuring data & payroll integrity and ensuring adequate support for audit purposes. Prepare weekly Field Office level payroll & performance reports to be utilized by office Managers & Reps. Respond to payroll inquiries and follow up questions. Prepare weekly/monthly Management level payroll performance reports for leadership team to understand and analyze weekly performance. Execution of ad-hoc variable compensation adjustments and analysis to support Field Sales offices. Partner with Field Sales & Finance team who are direct stakeholders of the payroll & compensation process and will actively be involved with the review and analysis process. Maintain audit and governance frameworks as related to tax and US state filings. Act of support or coverage for Canadian variable payroll compensation program. Qualifications & Experience 4+ years of experience in payroll, compensation, or financial operations. Experience with high-volume, variable compensation environment. Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll practices (U.S. exposure an asset). Advanced Excel skills (required): Complex formulas Audit and validation techniques Experience working with payroll systems (e.g., ADP). Strong analytical and problem-solving capability. High attention to detail with a process and control mindset. Ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders. Ideal Profile Operate with a high level of ownership and accountability.
