Join our team The Voting Processes and Infrastructure Unit is seeking a motivated and operationally focused supervisor to support the planning and delivery of Candidate Nominations and Special Ballot Voting Services during elections. The role plays a key part in the Elections Ontario event delivery track, providing centralized operational support, oversight, and issue resolution to ensure consistent service delivery to candidates, electors and Returning Officers across the province. What you can expect in this role Reporting to the Manager, Voting Processes and Infrastructure, you will: Supervise the day‑to‑day operations of the Candidate Nominations and Special Ballots Voting Services team, including the recruitment, scheduling, and oversight of approximately 25 clerks during extended hours of operation. Provide operational leadership and real‑time support to staff delivering candidate nomination and special ballot services. Conduct daily stand‑up and briefings to ensure staff are equipped with timeline information, clear direction, and consistent messaging. Serve as an escalation point for operational issues, resolving routine matters and escalating complex or sensitive issues as required. Support Returning Officers by providing guidance, clarification, and operational consistency related to candidate nomination processes, vote by mail and special ballot voting in the field and at HQ. Contribute to the development and maintenance of procedures, checklists, and quality‑control processes to support accurate and timely service delivery and record retention. Monitor workload, service levels, and team performance, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions as needed. Track operational data and prepare summary reports on program activity, trends and issues. Ensure activities are delivered within established timelines and budgets. Provide ongoing feedback, coaching and direction to support effective team performance. What you need to qualify 1 – 3 years supervisory or team lead experience in high‑volume operational, call‑centre, or service delivery environment. Demonstrated ability to schedule, direct, and support teams of 15+ staff, particularly in time‑sensitive or event‑driven contexts. Experience supporting operational delivery, including issue resolution, quality control, and adherence to established procedures. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines. Well‑developed verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on clear direction and customer service. Experience working in or supporting large‑scale events or public‑facing service delivery (electoral experience is an asset). Must be legally entitled to work in Canada. This role requires in‑office presence five (5) days per week. There is no hybrid option. The successful candidate will be required to complete criminal background and social media checks as part of the hiring process. During an election period must be available to work extended shifts including evenings, weekends and travel between two locations within the GTA.
