About This Role Our Engineering organization owns the software that makes our marketplace work. The Platform group empowers teams across Faire—Product Engineering, Data Science, Product Management, Strategy, Analytics, Finance, and more—to operate software with speed and quality. We prioritize good engineering practices, security, testability, maintainability, and scalability to serve millions of users. The Analytics Platform team builds capabilities to accelerate data-driven analytics, improving productivity and accuracy and reducing time from data to insights. The Team Focuses On The Following Areas And Capabilities Data warehousing, including cost-efficient storage and compute ETL (extract, transform, load) and ELT (extract, load, transform) pipelines Evolution of foundational datasets with company-wide utilization BI (business intelligence) tooling and integrations Productivity acceleration tooling for analytics use-cases, including AI/LLM powered tools Automation of analytics functions Monitoring, alerting, and cost tracking for workloads Data security, privacy, and governance The team also owns relationships with select infrastructure vendors. We’re looking for An engineer with data and analytics experience to work alongside our highly talented team, develop and deliver technical projects, and engage with other teams in the organization. What You’ll Do Plan and execute on technology projects that scale with our growth; contribute to our technology foundations with a focus on data integrity, security, performance, scale, reliability, and operational excellence. Engage with team planning and prioritization, balancing urgent and near-term needs with long-term goals. Provide technical expertise on difficult open-ended problems. Qualifications Strong Python and SQL skills Experience developing and operating ETL/ELT, storage, compute, and workflow systems Exposure to building and operating reliable, scalable data pipelines, orchestration of data movement, querying, transformation, and frameworks for analytics engineering workflows Understanding of data warehousing basics, especially Snowflake, is highly valuable Understanding of performance, capacity, cost trade-offs in data processing systems Experience diagnosing, mitigating, and addressing data system production issues at scale Strong communication skills A bachelores degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent industry experience Select technologies we use and teach: AWS, Snowflake, Airflow, Spark, Python, Kotlin Salary Range Canada: the pay range for this role is $129,500 - $178,000 per year. This role will also be eligible for equity and benefits. Actual base pay will be determined based on permissible factors such as transferable skills, work experience, market demands, and primary work location. The base pay range provided is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Hybrid Faire employees currently go into the office 3 days per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and a third flex day of their choosing (Monday, Wednesday, or Friday). Additionally, hybrid in-office roles will have the flexibility to work remotely up to 4 weeks per year. Specific Workplace and Information Technology positions may require onsite attendance 5 days per week as will be indicated in the job posting.
