As a Structural Engineering Intern, you will work in close collaboration with the Structural Engineering team in our Ottawa office. Your main responsibilities Participate in structural site investigations, inspections and reviews; collect field data and assist with the preparation of technical reports, inspection reports and compliance letters; Assist in the assessment and documentation of existing structural conditions through structural condition assessments and engineering studies; Support engineering calculations, analysis and design of structural elements including concrete, steel, masonry and wood, under the supervision of licensed Professional Engineers; Assist with the preparation and coordination of project deliverables, including technical reports, drawings and specifications; Collaborate with Engineers, Project Managers, clients and contractors throughout the project lifecycle; Support the Engineering team to meet project objectives related to scope, schedule and budget; Apply and promote Englobe’s health and safety policies at all times. What makes you unique Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Structural option) or Structural Engineering from an accredited university (new graduates encouraged to apply); Registered or eligible to register as an Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) with PEO (asset); Academic or co‑op experience in structural engineering or construction (asset); Foundational knowledge of: Structural analysis and design principles (steel, concrete, wood, masonry); National Building Code of Canada and Ontario Building Code (asset); Exposure to structural analysis and design software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, SAFI, etc.); Interest in site reviews and field investigations; Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in English required (French considered an asset); Comfortable working both independently and within a team environment; Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities; Eligibility to obtain Security Clearance; Valid driver’s licence, access to a reliable vehicle and ability to travel throughout Ontario, as required. Salary and compensation The salary range for this position is $60,550 to $79,472 CAD base per annum. Compensation may also include a comprehensive benefits package, performance incentives, or bonus eligibility depending on role level and business unit.
