As the Software QA Engineer, you will be working to ensure the quality and reliability of our cloud-native applications in AWS cloud environments. The successful candidate will ideally have experience in testing in IoT-enabled systems and or AWS IoT services in order to ensure our API testing, UI validation and test automation in Playwright is optimized. Responsibilities Develop and execute test strategies, test plans, and test cases for AWS-hosted applications Perform comprehensive API testing for cloud services (functional, regression, integration, end to end tests and negative tests) Conduct thorough UI validation across browsers and devices Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks using Playwright Validate end-to-end workflows involving UI, APIs, and AWS backend services Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (AWS CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.) Validate deployments on AWS environments including DEV, QA, and PROD Monitor and analyze test results, log defects, and collaborate closely with developers and DevOps teams Ensure test coverage for high availability, scalability, and fault tolerance in AWS Validate IoT data flows, device communication, and cloud ingestion pipelines Who you are 5+ years of experience in QA Engineering / Test Automation Strong experience testing applications deployed on AWS Solid understanding of API testing concepts (REST, HTTP methods, status codes, JSON) Hands-on automation experience using Playwright (UI and API) Good proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript Working knowledge of Python for API testing, data validation, and test utilities Experienced with AWS services Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines in cloud environments Experienced using Git and modern development workflows Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills Nice To Have Skills Working experience with AWS IoT Core, IoT Devices or sensor-based platforms Expertise in event-driven architectures (SNS, SQS, Lambda triggers) Understanding of performance, security, and resilience testing Experience with test data management and environment configuration in cloud setups ZTR Control Systems provides accommodations for applicants with disabilities throughout the recruitment process.
