The planned extension includes the construction of more than 6 km of tunneling five new stations running primarily underground through densely populated urban and commercial areas. Given the complex urban environment, which includes existing infrastructure, high-rise buildings, and sensitive utilities, the YNSE presents considerable geotechnical and structural challenges. Successful project delivery requires meticulous management of ground behavior and its impact on surrounding assets. Alava International will be in charge of all the instrumentation and monitoring throughout the project to ensure a safer and smoother project execution. This includes the design of the monitoring plan, supply and installation of the instrumentation, data collection and analysis, reporting and coordination between the stakeholders, designers and operations.
