About the role Chive is a Toronto-based ceramic flower brand with 25 years of design heritage and placement in some of the world's most prestigious retail destinations. We operate multiple Shopify storefronts across different regions — retail and B2B wholesale — running on an interconnected stack of Odoo, ShipStation, and CRM tools. We're looking for a hands-on IT Manager who sits at the centre of our technology operations: overseeing our external IT vendor to ensure work is delivered on time and to a high standard, driving Odoo implementation and customization, keeping our platform integrations healthy, and working shoulder-to-shoulder with the ops team on daily priorities. You're not just a technical lead — you're the person who makes sure things actually get done. Serve as the internal point of contact and accountability layer between Chive and our external IT vendor Translate business and ops requirements into clear, scoped briefs that the vendor can execute against Track active tasks and development tickets — enforcing timelines, flagging delays early, and driving to resolution Review vendor deliverables for quality, accuracy, and alignment with requirements before they reach production Hold regular check-ins with the vendor team to maintain momentum and surface blockers proactively Escalate and negotiate when priorities shift, scope creeps, or delivery standards fall short Maintain a running log of all vendor tasks, statuses, and outcomes for visibility across the internal team Odoo — implementation & customization — a core technical focus Lead or complete Odoo implementation across relevant modules — inventory, sales, purchasing, CRM, and fulfilment Customize Odoo workflows, views, and business logic to meet the specific requirements of our operations team Build and maintain automated integrations between Odoo, Shopify, and ShipStation — including scheduled cron jobs to sync orders, inventory, fulfilment status, and customer data across platforms Design and implement custom Odoo modules or extensions where out-of-the-box functionality falls short Audit, deduplicate, and clean customer records across Odoo and connected systems — resolving data conflicts, merging duplicates, and enforcing field-level data standards Establish reliable data pipelines so that product, order, and customer data stays consistent across the full stack Document all customizations, integrations, and cron job configurations for long-term maintainability Day-to-day responsibilities Work directly with the ops team to support daily tasks, unblock workflows, and keep operations running smoothly Oversee multi-store Shopify architecture across retail and wholesale channels in multiple countries Lead CRM strategy and hygiene — segmentation, automations, integrations, and lifecycle workflows Identify and reduce tech debt across the ecommerce stack; improve platform performance and reliability What you bring 10+ years in IT management or ecommerce systems roles — multi-store, multi-currency, multi-region experience required A strong track record managing external IT vendors or development agencies — setting expectations, reviewing output, and holding teams accountable to timelines and quality standards Proven, hands-on Odoo experience: implementation, module customization, workflow design, and Python-level development or configuration Strong integration engineering ability — REST/JSON APIs, webhooks, and scheduled cron jobs connecting Odoo, Shopify, ShipStation, and CRM platforms Experience with customer data cleaning: deduplication, record merging, schema normalization, and data governance Deep Shopify expertise — B2B, markets, metafields, Shopify Flow, apps, and CSV operations Strong CRM architecture and automation experience Clear, direct communicator who can bridge technical and non-technical teams with equal ease Core skills Details Rate: $80/hour · Duration: 2-month contract, high likelihood of permanent conversion · Location: Toronto (hybrid) If you're someone who holds vendors accountable, speaks fluent Odoo, and still enjoys rolling up your sleeves alongside an ops team — this role was written for you. #J-18808-Ljbffr
