Based in Ontario, the Senior Inspector, rcsi, will report to the Contract Administrator and will have a wide range of duties which ultimately focus on completing field and technical inspections. You will be part of a team that offers services primarily to the provincial government, administering large-scale construction projects on highways throughout Ontario. The team acts as a liaison between the Ministry of Transportation and the construction contractor undertaking the work, administering the construction contract, inspecting for adherence to specifications, handling quantity calculations, processing progress payments, etc. This is a new position and the salary range is $60,000 - $85,000 annually. What You’ll Do: Complete field inspections including independently performing a broad range of technical inspections in accordance with established standards and regulations Conduct inspections of methods and materials used by contractors, while ensuring conformity Assess and analyze compliance with contract documents Ensure environmental protection measures are installed and functioning Complete materials testing including compaction testing, bag and tag materials, and conduct field surveys to verify dimensions and grade Accurately record inspection activities in Field Diary, provide continuous evaluation of construction progress, and provide reports to Contract Administrator on construction activity Oversee Junior Inspectors and Checkers Who You Are: You hold the rcsi (road construction senior inspector) certification with OACETT You can travel away from home for extended periods of time You enjoy writing reports used by clients You are always keen to try something new You work hard until the job is done You go where others will not or cannot because you love a challenge You are trusted with the freedom and responsibility to work independently while contributing to overall team success What You Should Bring: Minimum of 3 previous MTO or Municipal projects inspecting Structures, Grade, and/or Asphalt (5 of each would be an asset), for a field role; or Having Senior Office person experience on at least 1 MTO or Municipal roadway project, for an Office Person role in a project field office; High motivation with results-oriented focus Superior organizational and multi-tasking skills Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills Excellent communication skills (oral and written) Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Valid Class G driver’s licence and use of a personal vehicle What We Offer You: Competitive salary, benefits plan, and company pension plan A fantastic culture, team, and energetic work environment Social activities, company sponsored events, and opportunities to give back to our local community Coaching and mentoring programs Scholarship programs for family members Opportunities to travel and work across Canada TULLOCH is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to acquiring a skilled and diverse workforce.
