Opportunity / Role Overview Geomatics/Surveying graduate or early‑career professional in Edmonton will gain hands‑on experience across field and office environments, working on real projects alongside experienced professionals. You’ll support municipal infrastructure, transportation, utilities and resource‑related projects. This field‑heavy, physically active role is suitable for people who enjoy variety, travel and early responsibility. Requirements Based in Edmonton or surrounding areas, or willing to relocate. Hold a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence with a clean driving record. Enjoy and are comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions. Can travel and work away from home for extended periods (up to 21 days). Comfortable working on active worksites and in remote or rural locations. Role is designated as safety sensitive; pre‑employment drug & alcohol testing and site‑access testing required. What You’ll Do Support and set up of survey equipment. Assist with the set‑up and operation of survey instruments under the direction of Party Chiefs or Field Supervisors. Work closely with survey teams to prepare files, maps, and data for project delivery. Research plans, titles, records, and other geospatial information. Place stakes, marks, control points, and assist with identifying or exposing utilities and survey monuments. Maintain, monitor, and report on the condition of survey equipment and vehicles. Work across urban sites, remote locations, and wilderness settings. Participate in safety practices and ensure teams think safe, work safe, and get home safe. Expect early starts, active days, and plenty of time outdoors. What You’ll Bring A diploma or technical education with an understanding of surveying. A genuine interest in field‑based, hands‑on work. Physical ability to work on active sites, varied terrain, and lift equipment. Willingness to work outdoors for extended periods in remote environments. Strong attention to detail, sound judgement, and clear communication skills. Previous outdoor, field, construction, or labour experience is an asset. Ability to travel out of town for up to 3 weeks. Compensation and Benefits Hourly wage range: $22 – $26 per hour.
