Job Purpose The successful candidate will form a key part of the Reference Data team responsible for building out a comprehensive best-in-class fixed income reference data solution. This role will require a deep understanding of all relevant Canadian fixed income reference data attributes covering each security type, optionality, factors, classifications and how this information is applied to fixed income pricing, analytics and integration into global vendor workflows. The role will also require full implementation of data governance, quality, validation, and workflow management practices on a real time basis. Primary Duties The candidate will perform a wide range of duties including but not limited to the following: Establishing a comprehensive reference data library covering 150K Canadian fixed income securities. Implementing data governance, validation, workflow and system check throughout the life cycle. Ensure the reference data is fully up to date to ensure fixed income pricing and analytics have the most timely and accurate source of truth. Operational maintenance of reference data for the Security Master products. Develop and maintain strong relationships with syndicate desks to obtain issuance documents and resolve any missing information. Identity and troubleshoot discrepancies in data capture. Document and communicate discrepancies to developers and follow through to resolution. Manage client (internal and external) queries and client escalations. Liaise with counterparts/stakeholders within the wider team. Secondary Duties User acceptance testing for new or enhanced product functionality. Execute test cases to confirm completion of technical, functional requirements for new fixed income product and system releases. Identify data quality improvement projects and opportunities to enhance operational efficiency. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 5 years+ of deep experience building fixed income reference data solutions in a global data vendor Deep understanding and experience building data governance, validations, workflow controls and downstream integration into pricing, analytics and risk systems Broad understanding of global vendor use cases, dealers and client integrations Strong investigating and problem-solving skills - acute attention to detail. Demonstrates analytical thinking and sound judgement when making decisions. Outstanding organizational skills, highly motivated and adaptable to a changing business environment. Must have exceptional time management skills. Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset. Key Qualifications Long term desire to stay focused on reference data. Knowledge of fixed income reference data (experience at the banks an asset – fixed income/syndicate desks). Content on handling data entry and daily tasks (ex. Experience in handling Capital Market settlements). Experience with Data Management and Governance. Experience with SQL. Education University degree in a related discipline.
