Cash Application Specialist Location: York Region, ON Length of Assignment: Permanent, Full-Time Salary: $45,000-$50,000/year Work Model: On-Site Job Responsibilities Reconcile daily cash, credit and debit card transactions with the merchant bank and company records Post customer payments (online, EFT, cash, cheque) daily Reconcile bank accounts daily to ensure all items are accounted for Offset unapplied cash per collector's request Process small balance write-offs and non-sufficient cheques Handle petty cash and cash float reimbursement requests Ensure monthly, weekly and daily deadlines are met Balance entries posted in the ledger Interact with managers, collectors and other key stakeholders Partner with accounting team to bring issues to their attention, understand root cause and offer potential solutions Escalate unresolved items to Manager Special projects and other duties as assigned Qualifications Minimum 2 years of progressive experience in cash applications Experience with applying payments from electronic and manual information to customer accounts Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook Experience in accounts payable functions is an asset Excellent communication skills; ability to convey messages in an organized, clear and effective manner Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Well organized, efficient and able to work independently Ability to handle high volume and work well under pressure Strong problem solving and analytical skills Strong attention to detail Team player - willingness to help teammates Demonstrates initiative with the ability to work in a collaborative team-based environment Strong sense of urgency and takes initiative to get things done Strong work ethic If you meet the above qualifications, please submit your résumé. #J-18808-Ljbffr
