Responsibilities The Family Pastor is responsible for overseeing the child, youth, and family ministries of GPBC and ensuring that all teachings and programs align with the church’s mission to make and mature disciples of Jesus Christ.Ministering God’s Word & Corporate Worship Oversee GPBC’s teaching to children, youth, and parents, ensuring it is consistent with GPBC’s doctrinal statement and member covenant.Serve as the primary teacher in GPBC’s youth and parent ministries (e.g., youth group, SNAC, YBC; Guardians Study, Parenting YBC).Serve as a teacher in GPBC’s children’s ministries (e.g., Kingdom Kids, Summerfest).Oversee and participate in the shepherding of GPBC’s children, youth, and parents, ensuring it is consistent with making and maturing disciples of Jesus Christ and GPBC’s SafeKids policy and procedures.Shepherd the youth leadership team members.Lead the youth leadership team according to YG’s stated commitments, values, and goals.Disciple the youth leadership team members according to their unique giftings.Oversee the planning and execution of YG retreats.Oversee the budgets for GPBC’s youth and children’s ministries.Partner with the Deacon of Children’s Ministry and the Deacon of Upward to ensure leadership teams, volunteers, and ministries align with GPBC’s vision and purpose.Partner with Wednesday Night ministry leaders (TreeClimbers, Stockade, Girls Club) to maintain consistency with GPBC’s vision.Partner with the Youth Administrator to ensure smooth operation of the youth ministries.Maintain a consistent devotional life of prayer, Bible study, and meditation on God’s Word.Be lovingly devoted to and actively lead his family.Participate in consistent spiritual accountability with other godly men.Cultivate spiritual gifting and ministry skills through participation in pastors conferences and academic societies.Working RelationshipThe Family Pastor reports to the Lead Pastor and is ultimately responsible to the Elders, working closely with the entire Pastoral team, office staff, and ministry leaders.Hours and Location40 hours per week, primarily at 1083 Green Pond Road, Green Pond, NJ 07435. Normal working hours: 9am‑5pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday; 12pm‑9pm Wednesday; 8am‑12pm Sunday; plus various events and meetings.Qualifications Applicant must meet the scriptural qualifications for the office of elder found in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
