We are seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to lead the design and delivery of secure and scalable technical solutions. As a key technical leader, you will act as a trusted advisor to both business and engineering teams driving architectural direction, shaping technology strategy, and ensuring alignment with enterprise goals. You will bring deep expertise in cloud-native architectures, microservices, and modern integration patterns along with strong leadership skills that foster collaboration and innovation. In this role you will also work to influence technology roadmaps, evaluate emerging solutions, and lead governance discussions across the organization. Key Responsibilities Architect scalable and secure solutions using event-driven, microservices, and API based design principles Lead architectural design sessions, providing technical direction and mentoring delivery teams, and ensuring outcomes align with business objectives Drive adoption of architecture standards, principles, and best practices across projects Collaborate with Delivery Managers and Product Owners to ensure architectural direction supports delivery timelines and business value Drive cloud transformation initiatives, promote automation, infrastructure-as-code, and continuous delivery practices Lead architecture review boards, solution assurance reviews, and design sign-off processes Evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to enterprise architecture roadmaps, technology governance, vendor assessments and proof-of-concept initiatives Ensure non-functional requirements (performance, scalability, reliability, security, compliance) are aligned with the enterprise and are embedded into solution designs and upheld through the implementation lifecycle Lead risk and technology assessments for major platforms, identify architecture bottlenecks, resolve design conflicts, and drive remediation plans Required Expertise 10+ years of experience designing solutions using microservices, event-driven architecture, and REST APIs Strong hands‑on experience with Azure Cloud Services or equivalent cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) Demonstrated ability to lead technical discussions, influence design decisions, and drive solution delivery In‑depth knowledge of software design principles, integration patterns (synchronous, asynchronous, event‑driven), and security standards Ability to architect highly available, low‑latency, mission‑critical platforms Experience designing cloud landing zones, multi‑region redundancy, cost‑optimized architectures, and governance models Hands‑on expertise with infrastructure‑as‑code (Terraform, Bicep), cloud‑native security models, and observability frameworks Strong understanding of resilience patterns, autoscaling strategies, and designing for failure Preferred Expertise Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field Understanding of transaction flows, payment rails (Interac, RTR, ISO20022), fraud controls, and compliance requirements Solid understanding of DevOps practices, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and modern deployment patterns Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and API management platforms (Apigee, Azure API Management, etc.) Relevant certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Solutions Architect or GCP Architect About Level19 Level19 is a trusted technology partner to some of Canada’s leading financial institutions, delivering secure, scalable, and high‑impact solutions.
