Our focus is supporting project owners in Transportation and Infrastructure, Industrial and Manufacturing, Energy and Utilities, and Buildings and Facilities markets to deliver projects that improve the world around us.ResponsibilitiesProvide professional estimating services in major high‑profile projects consistent with AACEi Classes of Estimates for order‑of‑magnitude, conceptual, feasibility, pre‑design, budget, value engineering, control, definitive, and final engineer's estimates as well as major change order estimates.Prepare the above‑described cost estimates for complex above and below grade structures, tunnels and buildings including extensive temporary site works, finishes, utilities and services for new construction and repair/renovation projects for rapid transit facilities and operating system elements.Prepare cost breakdown documents for progress payments and detailed quantity surveys from analysis of contract drawings and specifications.Prepare basis of estimate documentation for inclusion into reports.Analyze and report on cost breakdowns and price schedules submitted by contractors subsequent to tender closing.Prepare cost variance reports and explanations, tender comparisons, post‑bid analysis, cost reduction strategies and recommendations.Maintain current construction cost data based on historical costs, market research and indices in the application of a computerized cost estimating system.Attend meetings with stakeholders discussing major issues with project estimates versus market pricing relative to scope and budget variance impacts.Liaise with various EC&E Group management and staff, other client branches, external agencies, consultants and suppliers to obtain facts and cost information pertinent to the performance of the estimating work.Assist section managers in development, implementation, monitoring and measurement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).Review and comment on foreign cost estimates to ensure accuracy, comprehensiveness and consistency with the E&C Branch estimating guidelines and procedures.Maintain files and records of work.Working ConditionsOffice‑basedSome in‑person time for collaboration, learning and building relationships with clients, peers, leaders and communities. As an employer, we will be as flexible as possible to support your specific work/life needs.RequirementsMinimum of 15 years of working experience in a large urban transit organization, engineering, general contracting and/or cost consulting firm specialising in large complex multi‑faced projects.Bachelor's degree in the Engineering Technology field or related discipline.Knowledge of Mechanical/Electrical/Transit Operating Systems/Utilities estimating process.Experience in Design Bid Build, Design Build & Progressive Design Build projects.Holds a Professional PQS certification with OACETT, CIQS, AACE International, MRICS or other relevant technical association.Preferred ExperienceProficiency in the use of a PC and software applications related to the work (Microsoft Office).Strong understanding of Estimating core processes and procedures.Demonstrated skill in performing all levels and types of estimating, quantification, pricing, cost analysis, escalation and contingency analysis.Proven technical excellence with the ability to inspire confidence in the integrity of the estimate.Extensive knowledge of engineering performance, manual labour performance, equipment production and derivation of manual and non‑manual wage or salary rates.Expert capability to understand current industry and technical developments, bond and insurance terminology and pricing, currency exchange impacts and hedging arrangements.Advanced skills in Microsoft Office.Must maintain professional development to keep abreast of emerging technologies, methods and best practices.Ability to arrange priorities and escalate competing risks to meet deadlines with minimal input from leadership.Keen eye for detail and adept problem‑solving abilities.Must have demonstrated experience relaying and receiving information (written and verbal).Expert ability to work collaboratively and independently in a structured, disciplined, technology‑driven environment.Proven capacity to anticipate, identify and minimise risks.Expert ability to detect, capitalise and be sensitive to others' strengths.Tact to perceive and ameliorate conflict and tension.Capability to supervise, delegate and develop capacity.Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem‑solving environment by ensuring effective teamwork, promotion of innovation and overall excellence.Competent to understand interdependencies between technology, operations and business needs.Demonstrated functional acumen to support how solutions will address client goals while maintaining alignment with industry best practices.Proven success in providing leadership for project teams by building and motivating them to meet project goals and adhere to their responsibilities and project milestones.Compensation Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience.
