Your future role Take on a new challenge and apply your extensive expertise in railway signalling systems and commissioning management in a cutting‑edge field. You’ll work alongside dedicated and collaborative teammates. You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful validation, verification, and integration of signalling systems, directly contributing to the safety and efficiency of railway operations. Day‑to‑day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Validation & Verification, Engineering, Safety, Project Management), supervise the site Test and Commissioning team to execute approved strategies, and provide mentorship to junior testers, and much more. Responsibilities Serve as the primary interface as testing authority for the customer regarding commissioning activities and management of site personnel. Produce Right Of Way (ROW) requests and Site Specific Work Plans for all testing work. Evaluate and validate the scope of testing to support commissioning requirements and site activities as needed. Specify and design overall tests, including test architecture (test plan) and test design (test cases). Maintain detailed forecasts of testing timescales and resource requirements to deliver the allocated project stages. Manage budgets within tendered costs and program timescales throughout the duration of site testing and commissioning. Deploy T&C processes in the field and ensure adherence by the T&C team. Oversee the preparation and approval of T&C procedures, method statements, and field test documentation. Ensure that railway safety, EHS restrictions, and all applicable regulations are enforced and respected during testing activities. Perform customer acceptance tests and participate in site tests. All about you Degree in Engineering/Technology (Electrical, Computer, Electronics, Communications) or equivalent combined education and experience. Experience or understanding of commissioning railway signalling systems in large‑scale projects. Knowledge of signalling products, including "vital" and "non‑vital" circuit concepts. Familiarity with test equipment such as VOMs, DMMs, voltage meters, oscilloscopes, frequency counters, digital multimeters, and signal generators. Strong leadership and team management skills. Proven troubleshooting skills for technical problem identification and resolution. Knowledge of system development processes and Alstom Signalling Products (an asset). Excellent communication and reporting skills at all levels. Proactive mindset with attention to detail, safety orientation, and a collaborative approach. Compensation The expected compensation for this role is $115,000 – $140,000 CAD per year, plus benefits and eligibility for an annual performance bonus.
