Responsibilities Responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the Walton Street Steam Plant, and other duties as directed by the Plant VP, WSSP Operations. Promote, ensure and maintain a safe and healthy environment. Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, and Enwave HSE policies, programs and procedures. Qualifications Hold a 2nd Class Operating Engineer Certificate or be in a position to obtain a 2nd class OE certificate within four months of accepting this position. Have strong technical skills and be able to work safely alone or in a team environment. Process the skills and confidence to successfully perform the duties of the shift engineer as required. Must be capable of performing basic maintenance tasks as required. Be able to perform and Confined Space tasks. This position involves rotating shifts. Hold a valid Ontario driver’s license. This position is available immediately and probation will start once the candidate starts to work. This position will have direct contact with service contractors, suppliers, inspectors (insurance and government) and customers. Attendance, punctuality, appearance and positive behaviour required to foster positive relations with contractors, clients, staff, etc., that is in line with a leadership position.
