Position Intern Architect AIBC – Vancouver BC, Canada. Newly created position. Responsibilities Strong, hands‑on technical knowledge Strong written and verbal communication skills Document review and inter‑disciplinary coordination Develop or assist in the development of studies, programs, concepts, preliminary and final plans and specifications for projects of varying type and scale Prepare, review and approve drawings, specifications and other documentation as required. These will range from design presentation documents to technical documents for building permit, tender and construction and technical reports Ensure designs are developed in compliance with client program of requirements and in compliance with local codes, standards and applicable regulations Ensure designs are developed in accordance with AECOM processes, design and quality standards Lead project coordination with multi‑disciplinary teams, both internal to AECOM and external. Provides leadership by coordinating the work of others Interface with clients, authorities and other project participants as needed to achieve a successful project Work with AECOM design offices across the country, including participation in project teams and overall development of the design and technical quality of AECOM projects Proactively identify and advocate for improvements to existing processes and procedures. Adjusts to new processes or changing assignments, and considers alternative approaches to complete work Completes assigned work independently and receives general guidance and direction on new projects, tasks and priorities Checks own work and the work of others Team player with the ability to work within a team environment Minimum Requirements No less than a University Degree in Architecture + Four (4) years of experience in a professional architectural office. Registered with AIBC as an Intern Architect. Preferred Qualifications Preference for those with over four years of experience. Experience with Building and Places is a definite asset. Proficiency in REVIT, BIM, MS Office, Adobe Suite, and strong communication abilities are essential. Compensation Salary: CAD 75,000 – CAD 95,000 per year.
