Biomomentum strives to be at the forefront of innovation in the field of mechanical testing of biomaterial and tissues. Our multiaxial Mach-1 Mechanical Testers can assess mechanical properties of biomaterials or tissues under compression, tension, shear, friction, torsion, bending and also with our proprietary technique for 3D mechanical properties mapping. During this 16-week internship, the intern will work with our engineers and scientists to develop and validate new mechanical testing modalities compatible with the multiaxial Mach-1 Mechanical Tester on various biomaterials and tissues. The intern will conduct a thorough literature review, determine the optimal testing parameters, and write a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) with step‑by‑step information on how to execute the mechanical testing. Qualifications The position requires a completed Bachelor degree in engineering (biomedical, bioengineering, physical or mechanical) with at least 2 years of study. Basic knowledge of ISO 13485 (medical devices) and GLP/GMP regulations is an asset. The candidate should be well‑organized, attentive to details, able to manage multiple tasks, prioritize a large volume of work within deadlines and work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
