Senior Manager, Environment and Release Management – Shared Services OpenText is a global leader in information management. We are hiring a senior manager to lead the Environment and Release Management function within Shared Services. The role is responsible for defining and executing strategy, governance, and operational excellence across environment provisioning, lifecycle management, and enterprise release processes. Your Impact The ideal candidate will drive standardization and automation to enable scalable, efficient, and low‑risk software delivery across the organization. This includes optimizing environment utilization, managing cross‑application dependencies (including SAP, SFDC, and other enterprise platforms), and orchestrating complex, multi‑system releases with precision and predictability. Operating within a highly complex, global IT landscape, the role requires strong leadership and coordination across geographically distributed teams and mission‑critical systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring seamless delivery, minimizing risk, and enhancing overall system reliability across the enterprise. Responsibilities Lead and manage a global team delivering environment and release management services across multiple platforms. Define and implement enterprise‑wide release and environment management strategy, governance frameworks, and standards. Drive standardization, automation, and continuous process maturity across environments, releases, and CI/CD pipelines. Manage cross‑functional dependencies across application, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure seamless delivery. Oversee provisioning, configuration, maintenance, and decommissioning of non‑production environments. Optimize environment capacity, availability, performance, and associated cloud and infrastructure costs. Drive automation of environment provisioning, refresh processes, and release deployment workflows. Establish and manage release calendars while ensuring release quality, stability, and minimal business disruption. Ensure environments and releases are secure, audit‑compliant, and aligned with regulatory requirements. Provide executive‑level visibility and reporting on environment utilization, release readiness, risks, and performance metrics. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent technology experience (Required). Strong knowledge of environment and deployment principles & vendor management. Experience building integrated environments from scratch, maintenance, SaaS upgrades, data refreshes, and automation techniques, including CI/CD. Leadership experience in enterprise release management functions across multiple portfolios. Proficiency with release orchestration tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub) and DevOps/CI/CD practices at scale. Experience managing complex, multi‑system integrated releases; deep understanding of change management and ITIL frameworks. Strong strategic problem‑solving abilities combined with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud services. Release exposure and SaaS processes, with hands‑on experience running complex projects and deliverables.
