Associate Lawyer, Litigation Location: Toronto, Ontario Our Client Our client is a leading national law firm with a nationally recognized Litigation and Dispute Resolution group. The team is known for handling sophisticated and high-profile matters across a broad range of practice areas, including class actions, commercial litigation, civil litigation, environmental law, and construction disputes. Responsibilities Work on a broad range of litigation and dispute resolution matters, including class actions, commercial litigation, civil litigation, environmental matters, and construction disputes. Conduct legal research and prepare written advocacy materials, including pleadings, motions, factums, and other court documents. Assist with discoveries, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials. Collaborate with partners and associates across multiple practice groups and industry sectors. Participate in strategic case planning and provide practical legal advice to clients. Manage day-to-day file responsibilities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and client service. Build strong relationships with colleagues, clients, and industry professionals. Contribute to a highly collaborative team environment and support firm-wide initiatives. Qualifications Member in good standing of a Canadian Law Society. Approximately 2–4 years of post-call experience (2022–2024 calls preferred). Experience gained at a leading law firm with exposure to litigation matters. Strong academic credentials. Excellent legal research, writing, and drafting abilities. Demonstrated advocacy skills and attention to detail. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Experience with class actions, commercial litigation, construction, or environmental matters is considered an asset but is not required.
