WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS: The Junior Underwriter will support the underwriting team by evaluating insurance applications, quoting small risks, and ensuring the accurate processing of new and renewal business. This role helps maintain efficient underwriting operations while delivering exceptional service to clients and brokers. WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR : •Supporting Underwriters in reviewing and assessing insurance applications and proposals. •Quoting small risks by analyzing client information and determining appropriate coverage and pricing. •Researching client information, claims history, and risk factors to support underwriting decisions. •Preparing and processing documentation for new business, renewals, approvals, and policy changes. •Maintaining accurate client records and updating information within underwriting systems. •Assisting with broker and client communications, including follow-ups and information gathering. •Generating reports related to underwriting activity and risk exposure. •Supporting administrative functions including data entry, filing, and document management. •Collaborating with underwriting, claims, customer service, and sales teams to ensure timely service delivery. •Managing multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines. WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE: •Minimum 2 years of insurance industry experience in underwriting, claims, broker service, or a related insurance role. •Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. •Ability to prioritize competing tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. •Experience maintaining client databases and working within insurance management systems. •Excellent verbal and written communication skills. •Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word. •Ongoing or completed CIP or CAIB designation is considered a strong asset. •Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. •Post-secondary education is considered an asset.
