Job Description OTOLARYNGOLOGIST (ENT SPECIALIST) – PORTAGE REGIONAL HEALTH CENTRE Southern Health-Santé Sud & the Portage Clinic welcome applications from surgeon specialists who are passionate about providing ENT services at the Portage Regional Health Centre (PRHC) and the Portage Clinic located in the city of Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. Portage la Prairie blends small‑town charm with big‑experience amenities. Known as the Island on the Prairies, it features Island Park—a Manitoba Star Attraction with an outdoor waterpark, accessible pathways, a golf course, and a recreation centre with Manitoba’s largest indoor wave pool. Just 45 minutes west of Winnipeg, it’s a welcoming destination and a proud place to call home. Role Overview The successful candidate will possess a broad-based skill set in otolaryngology and head and neck surgery. Required surgical competencies include, but are not limited to, tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, tympanostomy tube insertion, septoplasty, endoscopic sinus surgery, and the management of epistaxis, peritonsillar abscesses, and airway emergencies. Experience in ear surgery, as well as allergy testing and treatment, including immunotherapy, is considered an asset but is not mandatory. The successful candidate will join the Portage Clinic—a private multidisciplinary clinic located just one block from the hospital. This facility currently houses 88 acute care beds. The new hospital will have increased emergency treatment areas, dedicated mental health treatment rooms, increased ambulatory care, treatment spaces, a dedicated cultural space, 3 operating suites, and 114 inpatient beds. The Hospital Offers a Full Spectrum Of Services, Including Cancer care Diagnostics including CT, lab & x‑ray Dialysis Emergency care Inpatient medicine and special care unit Mental Health Palliative care Rehabilitation services (physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech‑language pathology, audiology) Required Qualifications Certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) Current licensure or eligibility for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba Compensation Fee for service plus the current 24‑hour stipend of $621.57, increasing April 1, 2026, to $624.00 based on 24‑hour on‑call coverage as per the Doctors Manitoba On‑Call Specialist Agreement.
