Reporting to the Manager Engineering, this position is responsible to support Process Control and Software Categorization functions.Key AccountabilitiesAssessment of the effect of various control components on loop performanceTroubleshooting control problems and control loop tuningModeling physical systemsDocumenting analysis of plant dynamics which have been simulatedProviding advice and maintaining software governanceTesting and designing instrumentation and control components and control systemsAssessing Software Categorization in accordance with OPG Governance and CSA standardsQualifications4 year Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Computer, Chemical, Process or other related Engineering disciplineMinimum 2 years experience working in a process control/software categorization engineering roleRelevant experience in nuclear or industrial plant process control systems (e.g., electrical and control system design, I&C loop components, PID Controllers, control logic, control valves, transmitters, field instrumentation, wiring, relays, DCS, DCC, PLC, engineering calculations, and level, temperature, pressure, reactivity, turbine control systems).Software development experience in languages such as C/C++, assembly or ladder logicFamiliarity with software categorization standards (e.g., CSA N290.14, IEC 61508, IEEE 7-4.3.2, or similar)Experience with software lifecycle processes: requirements, design, implementation, verification, validation, configuration management, and documentationExperience in nuclear, power generation, or highly regulated environments is highly valuedExcellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work in a fast‑paced environmentCandidate must be a fully licensed engineer in the province of Ontario, or be eligible to be licensed in the Province of OntarioEEO Statement OPG is committed to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and accessible environment.
