Job Summary This is a permanent, full-time, thirty-seven and one half (37.5) hour per week position to commence effective immediately. The role is eligible to participate in the Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) Flexible Work Arrangement Program. Vacancy Status Replacement Role and Responsibilities Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Planning, Services, manage and train staff. Track and verify student enrolment data to support enrolment projection purposes throughout the school year and identify data issues. Develop annual school enrolment projections, and develop FTE and ADE projections for various reporting cycles. Coordinate the development of Ministry Business Case submission requests for new capital projects as well as school closure/consolidation projects. Responsible for the Board’s Long-Term Capital Plan (LTCP). Support the Senior Manager of Planning Services at public meetings and provide communications to community partners and stakeholders. Prepare reports and/or develop presentation materials regarding enrolment projections, Long-Term Capital Plan, Facility Accommodation Report, School Boundary Reviews and Pupil Accommodation Reviews. Manage the review of historic student enrolment data and housing data used to project students in existing and new development areas. Review and respond to development applications circulated under the Planning Act, including plan amendments, zoning by‑law amendments, plans of subdivision and condominiums, site plan approval, minor variances and consent, and requests for clearance to ensure board’s interests and accommodation needs are addressed. Support Senior Manager in preparing future school sites through the municipal development review process and conduct the necessary due diligence to confirm the developability of a school site. Qualifications / Experience University degree in Urban and Regional Planning, Geography or a related field. Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a field related to Planning, Geography and/or Demographics; school board experience would be an asset. Advanced knowledge and understanding of the municipal land development process. Expertise in analyzing complex datasets and producing demographic studies and student projections. Proven experience in conducting complex needs analysis and the development of project plans including timelines, milestones, and deadlines. Effective presentation and writing skills in developing communication materials and reports for planning projects and public sessions. Excellent critical thinking, communication, problem solving, time management and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Office 365, Adobe Creative Suite, ArcGIS, and student projection software is required. Working knowledge of SQL, Python, and WordPress is an asset.
