The successful candidate will join a cohesive team with established members from diverse backgrounds that provides high-quality care. The inpatient and community outpatient teams consist of social workers, nurses, occupational therapists, recreation therapists, and psychologists. Sydney has three inpatient mental health units and three inpatient withdrawal management/detox units. In Cape Breton, satellite clinics for mental health and addictions operate in the following communities: New Waterford Glace Bay North Sydney Cape Breton Regional Hospital is a 280-bed tertiary care institution that provides a broad range of medical care to patients in the Eastern Zone of the Nova Scotia Health Authority. CBRH is the second largest acute care facility in Nova Scotia and is the regional referral and trauma centre. CBRH operates as part of a four-hospital complex that includes New Waterford Consolidated, Northside General and Glace Bay Hospital. There is opportunity for applicants to engage in research and/or have medical teaching positions with Dalhousie University, and at the nearby Medical Campus, should that be of interest.
