Responsibilities Process client data and complete data entry in financial planning software Identify financial planning needs and solutions for clients by considering the client’s wealth, life goals and other objectives Serve as a resource for clients with needs surrounding financial planning, investments, insurance, tax management, executive compensation, retirement analysis, estate planning, philanthropy and business succession planning Develop recommendations and identify areas of opportunity to assist clients in achieving their financial goals Other financial planning tasks including meeting preparation, RRSP, RESP and TFSA account tracking, research assignments, and preparing report packages Ad hoc duties and projects as required Success Metrics You demonstrate BDO’s core values through all aspects of your work: integrity, respect and collaboration You understand your client’s industry, challenges and opportunities; clients describe you as positive, professional and delivering high‑quality work You identify, recommend and focus on effective service delivery to your clients You share in an inclusive and engaging work environment that develops, retains and attracts talent You actively participate in the adoption of digital tools and strategies to drive an innovative workplace You grow your expertise through learning and professional development Qualifications Be pursuant or have completed the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation 3+ years’ experience in the wealth/financial planning industry (in banking, insurance or investment‑related workplace) Inquisitive, curious attitude by continuously asking questions and looking for opportunities to make improvements Proficiency in planning software and Microsoft Office Suite Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities Ability to work well independently with minimal supervision Benefits Competitive total cash compensation and flexible benefits from day one Market‑leading personal time‑off policy Flexibility to work in office, client site or virtually with a blended approach Support for wellness initiatives and personal goals outside work Opportunity to contribute to community through local charity initiatives Everyone counts: We believe every employee should have the opportunity to participate and succeed.
