Description & Requirements The Development Director (DD) leads the delivery of complex, highly technical projects across the Creative Innovation team. The role is hybrid and based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Responsibilities: Lead end-to-end delivery of large-scale technical projects such as DataLake architecture, Data Provenance systems, and AI capability development. Own scope, schedule, budget, and quality from kickoff through release. Provide career management to direct reports, including growth opportunities and performance expectations. Define and maintain technical project roadmaps, translating complex engineering requirements into clear milestones and delivery plans. Drive quarterly and sprint planning processes, ensuring Agile principles and continuous improvement. Own project finances, including budget forecasting and resource allocation. Identify, assess, and mitigate technical and project risks. Partner with engineering leads, data architects, and AI/ML teams for technical feasibility and alignment with strategy. Establish and track KPIs and delivery metrics, reporting progress to senior stakeholders. Promote collaboration and continuous improvement across teams. Collaborate with Product and Technical leads to define sprint tasks and maintain visibility via GitLab. Qualifications: 6+ years of project management experience on highly technical data or AI/ML projects. 3+ years of team leadership, including direct people management. Experience leading complex, multi-workstream projects from start to finish. Strong understanding of data ecosystems: data lakes, pipelines, governance, lineage, provenance. Familiarity with AI/ML development lifecycles and delivery challenges. Proficiency with Agile and hybrid project management methodologies. Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills. University degree (Bachelor’s) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent experience. Pay Transparency – North America: The ranges listed below represent expected pay for this role in Canada. Pay is determined by education, qualifications, experience, skills, location and business needs. PAY RANGES For Canada, the compensation package includes vacation (3 weeks per year initially), 10 days sick time per year, paid top‑up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when a new child is welcomed, additional maternity/adoption leave, health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan, and eligibility for bonus and equity.
