Position Overview The Decision Support and Data Analytics (DS&DA) team is looking for an experienced Junior Data Analyst to transform data into meaningful insights, create data visualizations, reports and dashboards, and support key business decisions. Eligibility Requirements Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period (may exceed 30 at the end). Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. Must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada. Compensation $21.00 per hour. Employees will receive an additional 4% in lieu of vacation and paid statutory holidays. Key Responsibilities Requirement Scoping: Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand information requirements and create analytics solutions. Data & Reporting: Extract data, develop and generate standard reports, and respond to ad‑hoc requests using Cognos Analytics Business Intelligence (BI), SQL and Excel. Reporting & Visualization: Develop reports and dashboards in Cognos. Data Privacy: Ensure strict adherence to hospital privacy and data security standards. Reporting Maintenance: Support and enhance the decision support data analytics infrastructure and capabilities. Documentation: Create and maintain data definitions, reporting user guides and data lineage documentation. Collaboration: Work with other analysts to clarify and improve report specifications or identify alternative programming solutions. Stakeholder Engagement: Ensure reliability and validity of data through collaboration with internal stakeholders within Clinical Applications, HR and Finance, Health Information Management, Quality & Collaborative Practice and Programs & Services. Data Literacy: Educate staff on leveraging decision support and data analytics tools to improve performance. Storytelling with Data: Present and explain data and insights using advanced visualizations and PowerPoint slides to drive informed decision making. Cloud Data, Automation & Analytics Platforms: Assist in building and maintaining automated data pipelines, datasets and workflows using cloud-based platforms such as Snowflake and/or Databricks. Emerging Analytics & AI Tools: Explore responsible use of emerging analytics and generative AI tools aligned with hospital policies and governance. Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics or a related field, or equivalent education/experience. Experience using an enterprise Business Intelligence tool such as Cognos BI, Power BI, Tableau or similar. Knowledge of SQL and advanced Excel skills. Exposure to cloud-based data and analytics platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks) is encouraged/recommended. Foundational understanding of data pipelines, datasets, and workflows, including concepts related to data ingestion, transformation and automation is encouraged/recommended. Exposure to Generative AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT) with awareness of responsible, ethical, and appropriate use is encouraged/recommended. #J-18808-Ljbffr
