Corporate-Commercial Senior Counsel (10–15 Years Experience) – Aboriginal Law Focus Job Overview About the Role We are hiring an experienced Corporate-Commercial Senior Counsel with 10–15 years of experience to lead complex legal matters for Indigenous governments, development corporations, and joint ventures. This is a leadership-track position offering meaningful engagement with Indigenous governance. Although Maurice Law is seeking a candidate in Calgary, Maurice Law will consider applicants from other locations. Key Responsibilities: Provide strategic legal advice on sophisticated commercial transactions involving Indigenous clients Advise on the creation and governance of development corporations and trust structures Lead negotiations for impact benefit agreements, procurement contracts, and equity partnerships in resource development Mentor junior associates and contribute to business development initiatives Requirements: 10–15 years of legal experience, with a focus on corporate-commercial law Background in Aboriginal law, including Indigenous governance and economic development Proven ability to manage complex files with minimal supervision Experience leading client relationships and mentoring junior lawyers Superior organizational and time management skills Ability to work independently as well as the desire to be in a team environment Flexible and adaptable to constantly changing needs within the firm Good standing with Law Society of Alberta Practice Area: Corporate-Commercial, Aboriginal Law #J-18808-Ljbffr
