About the OpportunityIn this role, the Corporate Controller will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of the company by ensuring the accurate recording, consolidation, and reporting of financial activities. Working in a fast-paced environment, the Corporate Controller will collaborate closely with site accountants, finance teams, and senior management to deliver timely financial statements and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Additionally, this role oversees the integrity and effectiveness of day-to-day accounting, payroll, tax and treasury functions. Position Responsibilities, Accountabilities and Job DutiesFinancial Reporting and ConsolidationPrepare monthly management reports, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and Canadian regulatory requirements. Consolidate financial results from various mine sites and corporate entities. Assist with the preparation of the MD&A reports for external stakeholders. Support the continued use and evolution of our Workiva integration. General Ledger ManagementOversee and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accurate recording of all transactions. Perform and oversee account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies as needed. Prepare, post and review journal entries for accruals, prepayments, and other adjustments as required. Manage Concur expense system and environment. Budgeting and Forecasting SupportCollaborate with operations and corporate teams in preparing budgets and forecasts. Monitor actual performance against budgets and identify variances for reporting to management. Provide financial analysis and insights to support cost management and decision-making. Compliance and AuditEnsure compliance with internal financial policies and external regulations. Coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit process. Support the preparation of tax returns and filings in collaboration with tax consultants. Oversee ESTMA and Stats Can reporting requirements. Internal Controls and Process ImprovementsAssist in the development and monitoring of financial controls across corporate and site operations. Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve reporting efficiencies. Ensure adherence to company policies and accounting best practices. Payroll and TreasuryOversee the payroll for the corporate office, supporting the Payroll & A/P Administrator. Support with the management and execution of the Company’s metal sales, banking and cash flow requirements. Cross-Functional Collaboration and Team SupportWork closely with mine-site accountants to align reporting processes and ensure timely submission of financial data. Provide financial information to management, operations, and business development teams to support strategic initiatives. Coach and mentor team members with best practices within their functional area. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications and ExperienceEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation required. Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting within the mining, natural resources, or heavy industry sectors. Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Knowledge: Strong understanding of IFRS/GAAP and financial consolidation principles. Knowledge of Corporate and mining tax regulations is an asset. Languages: Bilingual in English and French is an asset.
