Hi there! Thanks for stopping by. Actively looking for a new opportunity to work on a team focusing on projects with real business impact? Do you thrive in environments where you can help raise the bar for quality, drive collaboration, and mentor others to reach their full potential? If so, you might be in the right place! Lightspeed is looking for a Product Designer II to join our Wholesale team in Toronto or Montreal, Canada. The team designs the NuORDER experience brands and buyers use to work with one another, and is now reshaping it: bringing discovery, ordering, and brand relationships into a unified flow. You’ll help bring it to life through iterative design and delivery. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of transforming complex workflows into simple, clear customer journeys with user‑friendly interfaces that seamlessly integrate with other workflows. You excel at identifying opportunities to deliver value and thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with engineers and product managers to create exceptional customer experiences. Please note that candidates must be based in Ontario or Quebec and available to work Eastern Standard Time (EST) hours to be eligible for this opportunity. What You’ll Be Doing Shaping the Buyer Experience: Design across the experiences buyers use most, and help make every step from browse to purchase clearer and more cohesive. Supporting the Brands: Improve the tools brands rely on to merchandise their products, manage assortments, and grow stronger relationships with retailers. Turning Data into Decisions: Leverage unique insights from the Lightspeed Retail offering to help brands and buyers make confident calls about what to stock, reorder, and prioritize. Problem Solving: Own and lead full design cycles for features or product areas, comfortable reaching out for guidance when needed, participate in design reviews and working sessions, translate requirements and ideas into clear, usable product features, and explore and integrate AI and emerging technologies. Embedding Systems Thinking: Use UX expertise, design systems, UI design, and micro‑interactions to create simple, elegant, user‑friendly flows and interfaces, ensuring consistency across platforms. Driving User‑Centricity: Use research and data insights to inform design decisions, collaborating closely with product managers and engineers to align on user needs while balancing usability with business goals. Collaboration: Work closely with cross‑functional partners and contribute positively to team culture, being open to feedback and eager to learn from peers and senior designers. What You Need To Bring At least 4 years of practical, in‑house product, UX/UI design experience, preferably in e‑commerce or B2B facing brands with multi‑sided marketplaces. Clear communication skills, able to explain design decisions and collaborate effectively with teammates and stakeholders. Solid visual design skills and attention to detail, with a drive to continuously refine craft. A curiosity to learn and adopt new tools, including how AI can enhance the user experience and improve your design process. Applied experience working across all digital and physical manifestations of design – from the responsive web to native applications to emerging technologies. An acute level of self‑awareness and deep empathy for both the customer and your team’s goals. An understanding of product strategy and vision, questioning why design decisions are made, not just how they look. Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Google Suite, JIRA, and other prototyping tools. Fluency in English as a working language is required, as the company serves clients and employees outside Quebec. Benefits Flexible work environment that empowers you to do your best work. A culture that celebrates performance. The chance to make an impact in a team that’s big enough for career growth but lean enough to make your voice heard. Career‑defining opportunities. Flexible paid time off and remote work policies. Equity options. Contributions to your pension plan. Training opportunities to grow your skills and career. Health and wellness credit. Time off to volunteer and give back to your community. Interest groups, employee‑led networks, social committees, and sponsored sports teams. Computer purchase program, including a personal Macbook. Enhanced parental leave to support growing families. Lightspeed is a proud equal opportunity employer and we are committed to creating an inclusive and barrier‑free workplace. Lightspeed welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities. Accommodations are available on request for candidates taking part in all aspects of the selection process. Please note that we ask applicants to disclose any criminal convictions, and we conduct criminal record checks as part of our hiring process for this role.
