You are grounded in trim development and maintain operational excellence. You develop best-in-class trims that significantly impact the success of our product. Your focus will be a high‑performance toolbox and on‑time delivery in the raw materials space, driving our product and our brand forward in alignment with our supply chain goals.This is a temporary role ending in January 2027 based out of our North Vancouver office. Our success comes from our knowledge, our standards of excellence and delivering on‑time material solutions, alongside our supply chain partners.If you were in the Materials Developer 2 - Trims, role now, here are some of the things you’d be doing:Delivering high performance materials and technologies for our performance categoriesDeveloping and validating trims materials according to Design and Raw Materials (RM) Sourcing team’s seasonal briefs; meeting the highest quality standards within alignment to our Supply Chain strategyUtilizing your resourcefulness when faced with supply chain limitationsProviding technical expertise to Design and Product teams on textile construction and finishing, as well as vendor capabilitiesCommunicating clearly and concisely with internal and external partners to shepherd decision making and deliver on timeEnsuring new developments follow our preferred material guidelines to meet sustainability targetsMaintaining organization and accuracy within digital workspacesBuilding and strengthening mill partnerships within our supply chain and leveraging capabilities to meet trim specificationsCommunicating material development status and updates to leadershipInitiating and informing seasonal wear testing, in partnership with our wear test team within RM pre‑season calendar timelinesOperating and training on in‑house lab equipment to record and inform performance attributes and test resultsHere are some of the things you could work on in the future:Researching advanced technology and manufacturing opportunitiesOptimizing the performance toolbox through consolidation effortsSolutioning for advanced, longer lead time developmentsContributing to fabric trademark and franchise opportunitiesAre you our next Materials Developer 2 - Trims?You have 3+ years of industry experience related to materials and trimsYou have a degree or diploma in Materials Science, Textile Technology, Product or Textile Design, or the equivalent industry experienceYou have a working knowledge of the design and development process from inception through to final adoptionYou have an extensive knowledge of trim materials and constructionYou have a thorough understanding of trims and textile manufacturing, including dying, finishing, printing, molding, etc.You have previous materials laboratory testing experienceYou effectively balance autonomy and collaboration with multiple teamsYou partner effectively with diverse networks of internal and external cultures and teamsYou have strong organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple tasks within tight deadlinesYou have strong verbal and written communication skillsYou are proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and PLM systemsYou have the physical ability to handle small boxes and rolls of fabric, etc.You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguityYou inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvementYou seek the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitment to do what is rightPay The company offers a salary range of CAD$82,000 - CAD$103,000 at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job‑related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
