If it’s part of the electrical power system, Shermco has the expertise to support it.The Opportunity Shermco Canada is seeking an experiencedElectrical Power Systems Engineer(P.Eng.) to join our growing Saskatchewan engineering team.Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will lead and contribute to the design, analysis, and optimization of electrical power systems for a diverse client base. You will be based out of our Saskatoon or Regina office, with flexibility for remote or hybrid work for candidates located within Saskatchewan.ResponsibilitiesProvide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineering staffPlan, manage, and execute electrical engineering projects across industrial and utility sectorsPerform power system analysis and design, including both new installations and system upgradesDesign and integrate protective relaying systems (SEL, GE, Siemens, Schneider, or similar platforms)Support substation automation solutions, including RTUs, HMIs, communications, and control systemsConduct electrical studies such as:Short-circuit and coordination studiesArc-flash hazard analysisLoad flow, grounding, and harmonic studiesCreate, review, and approve electrical drawing packages, including:Single-line and three-line diagramsSchematics, wiring diagrams, and general arrangementsDesign and modify electrical distribution systems, including switchgear, MCCs, transformers, CTs/PTs, protective devices, relays, and controlsTroubleshoot electrical system issues and develop practical, client-focused solutionsSupport field services teams during maintenance, commissioning, and site activities as neededPerform onsite inspections and technical data collectionContribute to proposal development, estimates, and technical input for client engagementsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical EngineeringRegistered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Saskatchewan6+ years of overall experience, including a minimum of 3+ years of experience obtained after earning P.Eng. designation, in relevant power systems engineeringExperience with power system analysis tools (e.g., ETAP, SKM, EasyPower) is an assetFamiliarity with protection relays and substation/automation systems is an assetProficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applicationsWillingness to travel occasionally for fieldworkStrong communication and problem-solving skillsWhy Join Shermco?Work on technically challenging and meaningful power systems projectsCollaborate with experienced engineers and technical specialistsOpportunities for professional growth and leadership developmentSupportive team environment with a strong safety cultureFlexible work arrangements may be considered based on role and locationEqual Opportunity & Accessibility Shermco Canada is committed to providing equal employment opportunities.
