PBX is looking for a qualified Senior Design Engineer to work with the Municipal Utilities team and other engineers in delivering projects in BC & Alberta. For more than 28 years we have diligently curated steady growth to build a successful company of over 140 employees.Our extensive, diverse, and award-winning project portfolio includes infrastructure that positively impacts the public and the communities where we all live and work.About the Role Working closely with other engineers, theSenior Design Engineerwill be a key member of theMunicipal Utilitiesteam, with responsibility for project tasks in the following areas:Perform client liaison and project management to support efficient and effective project deliveryPrepare construction-related contract documentationProvide constructability reviewsConduct site assessments and equipment condition assessmentsConduct site inspections, construction progress reviews, and field reviewsPrepare, track, review, and manage construction documentation (change orders, site instructions, shop drawings, quality management forms, test plans, requests for information, as-built drawings, etc.)Oversee contractor quality control and testing activitiesPrepare calculations and simulations; Prepare cost estimatesProduce drawingsPrepare specifications, reports, technicalmemos, and other project documentation and deliverablesAttend meetingsPerform system commissioning and troubleshootingDevelop softwareManage teams and mentor junior staff, as and when directedQualifications Core Qualifications The preferred and required skills of a successful candidate are listed below:Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university, or diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology program or equivalent from a recognized technical institute.Eligible for registration with EGBC as an EIT/P.Eng.At least 8 - 12 years experience in an engineering consulting environmentStrong oral and written communication skillsEffective interpersonal skillsAbility to effectively deal with a high level of responsibilityAbility to work both independently and collaborativelyProven organizational and time management skillsDemonstrated effective project management experienceExperience managing client relationshipsEagerness to learn and a positive, professional attitudeAble to effectively deal with a high level of responsibility and demanding work scheduleKnowledge of the Canadian Electrical CodeStrong computer skills including good working knowledge of the MS Office suiteAbility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, where demands and deadlines shift frequentlyA professional demeanorCompensation The range of compensation for this position is $124,800 to $166,400 base salary per annum.This salary range is provided specifically for compliance to provincial legislation.The actual salary will depend on the skills, experience, and capabilities of the successful candidate relative to the role and may or may not land within the range specified aboveApplications Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply by submitting a cover letter, resume, and references.Resumes will be accepted until May 31, 2026.PBX provides equal opportunities to all qualified candidates.
