The Namgis First Nation is looking for a physician to join the Namgis Health team. The physician will work in clinic with 2 physicians and other health team members, including 2 community care nurses, 2 mental health workers, addictions counselors, and a social worker. There are also visiting occupational therapists, social work professionals, mental health workers, intensive case managers, and a midwife. Additionally, visitors include specialists in Pediatrics, Rheumatology, Ophthalmology, and Psychiatry. The position requires ER coverage, inpatient hospital care, and long-term patient care. Both the clinic and hospital are located on the Namgis First Nations reserve. The position is salaried and housing can be provided. The Namgis are a forward-thinking people who are deeply invested in the health care of their community and, by extension, the health care of Alert Bay and surrounding peoples. Benefits Recruitment Incentive: $20,000 Relocation Costs Reimbursement: up to a maximum of $15,000 Fee Premium: 23.94% Annual Flat Fee: $37,100.16 Rural CME: starting at $1,320/annum for 2 years or less in community, increasing to $3,520 in years 3 and 4, and a maximum of $5,720 after 4 years.
