Our private ownership provides long‑term business planning and strategic decision horizons supported by a strong financial position.Job Description Bantrel is currently seeking a qualifiedElectrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Field Engineer(Mining Projects) to join our mining team, based out ofLeroy, SK . The E&I Field Engineer will be responsible for performing field inspections and participating in construction walk‑downs. They will focus on ensuring the relevant aspects of construction meet the electrical and instrumentation design intent. The E&I Field Engineer shall address electrical and instrumentation technical queries and non‑conformance reports related to the design. They will work mainly within the Integrated Construction Centre (ICC) platforms to issue technical queries, non‑conformance reports, and other notices when necessary. The E&I Field Engineer shall form the link between the Owner (BHP), Engineers of Record (HBJV) and the construction team for all electrical and instrumentation engineering related work. This shall include interpretation of designs and technical & engineering functional standards and seeking validation as required to support the construction team.Hatch and Bantrel have formed the Hatch Bantrel Joint Venture (HBJV) to execute engineering and construction on the BHP Jansen Potash Mine Project in Saskatchewan. After successfully completing the Definition Phase Study for the project, the HBJV is currently carrying out the Detailed Engineering Phase for the Processing, Non‑Process Infrastructure (NPI) and Mining Areas of the 4.5 Mtpa Stage 1 Potash Mine. With a published TIC of US $5.3‑5.7 Billion this will represent one of the largest projects and private investments in Canada. The HBJV will use a hybrid of best‑in‑class new developing technologies and systems as well as the proven HBJV suite of tools to execute this exciting project.Please note this position is not eligible for a relocation subsidy or living out allowance. This will be a camp position on a 15 day on / 13 day off rotation.Duties & ResponsibilitiesSign applicable check sheets upon completion of field inspection.Reviews submittals related to Electrical and Instrumentation (contractor project execution plan, quality plan, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), inspection records)Issues quality incident reportsManages the following as they pertain to the electrical and instrumentation discipline - Technical Queries (TQs), Field Change Notices (FCNs), Field Change Reports (FCRs), Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)Communication of electrical and instrumentation design changes and/ or field engineering changes with construction and engineering teamsPerforms electrical and instrumentation field inspectionsEnsures they are effectively and efficiently leveraging ICC platforms and systems to submit queries, notices, and reportsReviews installed quantitiesAttends and participates in the construction walk-downs and verifies closure of punch itemsReviews turnover documentationConfirmation that all minimum maintenance and inspection activities are completed for electrical and instrumentation components by the ContractorsParticipates in the site risk and control ownership as requiredGenerates reports as required on electrical and instrumentation engineering deliverables, execution, and turnoverShaft Mining underground work requiredOperates day-to-day ensuring that activities are prioritized in line with broader objectivesAttends and participates in the weekly contractor quality meetingPrepares field sketches for temporary facilitieswhen requiredCoordinate with engineering on constructability and design issues relating to the electrical discipline such as installation and testing of electrical systems, lighting systems, high voltage equipment and grounding, and DCS systemsEstablish an electrical design/field engineering working relationship and lines of communication with the Engineer of Record, including the agreement on electrical engineering deliverables and overall construction application configuration managementSpecify the electrical criteria for the construction of temporary construction facilities as requiredReview material receiving reports and warehousing to assure delivery of correct electrical materialsCoordinate and monitor the interfaces for electrical data exchange to support the construction automation plan and the project controls program requirements at the job siteCoordinate with Field Supervision and Subcontractors to plan/support construction schedulesPlan and recommend electrical procedures to be implemented by Field Supervision to ensure construction operations are within requirements of engineering design and specificationsAdditional duties as requiredQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant work experienceProfessional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration in the Province of Saskatchewan is considered an assetMinimum 5–10 years of relevant experience in the electrical discipline on large‑scale capital projects, preferably within mining, potash, heavy industrial, or similarly complex construction environmentsStrong working knowledge of quality management systems, including ISO standards, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and auditing processes supporting major project deliveryHigh attention to detail and a demonstrated commitment to quality outcomes, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvementAbility to quickly learn and apply new systems, standards, and technologies within a fast‑paced project environmentFunctional knowledge of industry‑leading engineering standards and engineering management practices in a multi‑discipline EPC/EPCM environment, including experience with 3D, data‑centric design and construction platformsWorking knowledge of integrated project delivery workflows, including engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, project controls, health & safety, environment & community, and risk management, typical of large mining and industrial capital projectsStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage a wide range of stakeholders, including discipline leads, functional managers, clients, vendors, and construction contractorsBenefitsImmediate access to a comprehensive benefits package that provides extended health, dental, vision, prescription coverage and flexible healthcare and personal spending accounts (no waiting period)Employer Group RRSP plan with no matching requiredEligible employees can participate in our Earned Day Off program (EDO) providing alternate Fridays off (based on annual calendar)Hybrid remote work program (up to 52 days per year, based on eligibility)Explore the many reasons to be part of our teamEqual Employment Opportunity Statement We encourage applications from people with disabilities.
