Senior Electronics Designer / Technical Project Lead Our client is a leading manufacturer of medical and healthcare equipment solutions, supporting hospitals and healthcare facilities across North America and globally. They are seeking a hands‑on Senior Electronics Designer / Technical Project Lead to support new product development, production troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. Position Overview “A hands‑on Electronics Engineering Lead who is comfortable operating between R&D, manufacturing, quality, and project management.” This role is a hybrid combination of: 33% Electrical Design 33% Project Management / Technical Coordination 33% Troubleshooting, CAPA & Quality Support The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, production, quality, and mechanical design teams to develop, improve, troubleshoot, and support electronic systems used in medical device and healthcare workstation products. This is an ideal opportunity for a technically strong and hands‑on electronics professional who enjoys balancing product design, manufacturing support, project leadership, and problem solving. Key Responsibilities Electrical Design (33%) Design and develop digital and analog electronic circuits for medical device accessories and mobile medical workstations Create schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer or similar CAD tools Support firmware coding, debugging, and embedded systems troubleshooting Perform circuit simulation, testing, validation, and design verification Select and evaluate electronic components and subsystems Design and develop automated test fixtures and test jigs for production Support compliance testing including EMC, EMI, ESD, EFT, Surge, UL, IEC, and related standards Project Management & Technical Leadership (33%) Manage and coordinate small‑to‑medium engineering projects from concept through production Work cross‑functionally with mechanical engineering, production, purchasing, and quality teams Coordinate with PCB manufacturers, suppliers, and external vendors for prototyping and production activities Track project timelines, deliverables, and engineering changes Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Electrical Technologists and junior team members Assist in building and developing the electronics engineering team over time Troubleshooting / CAPA / Quality Support (33%) Support inbound and outbound quality investigations related to electronic assemblies and products Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions (CAPA) on production and field issues Troubleshoot electronic systems, PCB assemblies, firmware issues, and manufacturing defects Support continuous improvement and manufacturability initiatives Work closely with Quality and Production teams to improve product reliability and reduce failures Provide technical support to manufacturing and service teams as required What we are Looking For? Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent 5+ years of hands‑on experience in electronics design and PCB development Experience with Altium Designer or similar PCB design software P.Eng or Eligibility for P.Eng is a definite asset. Experience with embedded systems, firmware debugging, and electronic troubleshooting Excellent Communication skills with a strong personality to lead a team. Strong understanding of: AC-DC and DC-DC power conversion Circuit protection and compliance testing EMC / EMI / ESD requirements Experience working with RFID, Ethernet, and WiFi technologies Experience supporting manufacturing, production, or quality environments Strong project coordination and communication skills Ability to lead discussions, drive corrective actions, and work effectively in a fast‑paced environment Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal) Preferred Qualifications Experience within medical device or healthcare product manufacturing Knowledge of: PSpice MATLAB Python SQL C# Familiarity with mechanical CAD software P.Eng designation or eligibility is considered an asset Fast‑paced engineering and manufacturing environment Hands‑on technical role with cross‑functional exposure Combination of design, project coordination, and production support Opportunity to contribute directly to product development and continuous improvement initiatives Benefits Scheduled Hours: 8:30am - 5:00pm Monday to Friday Benefits: Full Benefits after 90 Days + 3 Weeks Vacation Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 Days In Office) Travel: 10–20% Global Travel This role pays a competitive total compensation ranging from $85,000 $110,000 per annum.
