We are seeking an experienced and proactive Occupational Health & Safety Manager in West Vancouver, BC to lead and strengthen workplace safety programs across a dynamic, operational environment. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive health and safety systems that ensure compliance, reduce risk, and support the well-being of all employees, contractors, and stakeholders. The OHS Manager plays a key leadership role in fostering a safe, supportive, and high-performance workplace while ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, including the Workers Compensation Act and WorkSafeBC standards. Working closely with Risk Management and operational leadership teams, this role oversees safety programs, training, audits, and incident investigations while driving continuous improvement across all safety functions. Key Responsibilities Compliance & Strategy Interpret and apply Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) legislation to develop, maintain, and enforce workplace safety policies and procedures Ensure compliance with all relevant Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) Lead and manage the COR (Certificate of Recognition) audit process and ongoing certification requirements Maintain alignment of safety programs with organizational goals and regulatory standards Training & Education Develop and deliver internal safety training programs, including emergency procedures and hazard awareness Manage and maintain the Learning Management System (LMS) Track and report training completion and compliance across departments Present safety metrics and updates to leadership teams Risk Management Lead workplace inspection programs in collaboration with department heads Conduct hazard assessments and internal safety audits to identify and mitigate risks Oversee safety and risk-related functions across operational areas Support proactive risk reduction initiatives across all departments Incident Investigation Lead and support investigations related to workplace incidents, injuries, and safety concerns Identify root causes and develop corrective and preventive action plans Address health-related complaints, including environmental or workplace safety concerns Ensure timely reporting and documentation in compliance with regulations Collaboration, Communication & Reporting Act as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies such as WorkSafeBC Prepare and present statistical analysis of incidents and safety trends Maintain and update the organization’s Safety Improvement Plan Work closely with all departments to integrate OH&S practices into daily operations Provide ongoing communication and reporting to leadership on safety performance Represent the organization in external safety forums and industry groups Support cross-functional teams in achieving operational goals What You Bring Qualifications & Competencies Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills Proven ability to manage risk and influence safety culture Excellent organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced environment Strong understanding of occupational health and safety legislation and best practices Experience with safety systems, audits, and compliance programs Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant safety/risk management software Strong interpersonal skills with sound judgment and decision-making ability Ability to adapt in a dynamic, operational environment Education & Experience 3+ years of experience in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field College diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Environmental Health, Safety Management, or related discipline Experience in ski resort, tourism, or outdoor operations is considered an asset Intermediate skiing or snowboarding ability is preferred Certifications & Requirements Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for travel as required Relevant safety certifications considered an asset (e.g., WHMIS, Fall Protection, WorkSafeBC training) What’s in it for you?
