Actuary (Toronto, Canada Office) We are seeking an Actuary to join our Toronto office. What to Expect An individual contributor who, with minimal supervision, builds complex analyses to evaluate assumptions, premiums and risk; analyzes industry factors that affect loss liabilities; and consults with clients on reinsurance actuarial services to assess and mitigate risk. The role acts as a strategic partner to brokers and clients, collaborating with actuarial and broking teams to ensure client and broking needs are met and analytics resources are used appropriately. Responsibilities Consult with brokers on client needs and advise on reinsurance programs based on risk tolerance and industry trends to help clients mitigate risk. Implement complex models and calculations to assess risk, develop pricing and strategies for a wide range of risk exposures. Work with the actuarial and broking teams to support client relationships and strengthen engagements. Lead day‑to‑day parts of projects, making decisions that keep projects moving forward. Qualifications ACAS or FCAS with 6+ years of experience in the industry. Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, economics, mathematics, statistics, or a related field. Experience in pricing, valuation, and/or capital modeling. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite. Visualization skills – Power BI, Tableau, or similar. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Coding experience in Alteryx, R, Python, VBA, or SQL. Comfortable working in interactive teams with brokers and clients.
