Our Values Trust Responsibility Excellence Navigating Change Candor Humility Overview We are seeking a results‑oriented and hands‑on Production Manager to lead operations at our unionised manufacturing facility, specializing in high‑voltage power transmission products. Operating over two shifts (with planned expansion to three), this role plays a critical part in delivering complex, customised, project‑based products on time, on budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate brings a strong continuous improvement mindset, a solid foundation in Lean Manufacturing and 5S, and extensive experience in Ontario’s regulated manufacturing environment. Your Tasks Lead and manage all production operations to achieve safety, quality, cost, inventory, and delivery targets. Oversee daily activities across shifts, ensuring execution of production schedules and on‑time delivery of customer projects. Monitor and report on key production metrics and KPIs; analyse trends, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions. Champion a culture of continuous improvement , leveraging Lean tools , 5S , and structured problem‑solving methodologies. Collaborate cross‑functionally with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Warehouse, Project Management, and HR to improve efficiency and resolve issues. Engage in strategic planning and execution with senior management, contributing operational insights and supporting initiatives such as shift expansion and capacity growth. Standardise production workflows and implement best practices to support long‑term scalability. Lead workforce planning, hiring, training, and performance management of supervisors and frontline employees. Maintain a positive and productive union‑management relationship, partnering with HR to address grievances and conduct investigations. Ensure full compliance with Ontario labour laws , OHSA , and ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001). Administer WSIB and return‑to‑work programmes , and oversee short‑ and long‑term disability case management. Requirements Education: Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Business. Experience: 10+ years of experience in assembly manufacturing and operations leadership. Certification: Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent CI training (preferred). Demonstrated success in production management, quality improvement, and cost control. Experience implementing Lean principles, leading safety programmes, and developing high‑performing teams. Background in custom or project‑based manufacturing environments is preferred. Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, OHSA, and relevant compliance standards. Proven success leading growth initiatives such as shift expansion, factory scale‑up, or capacity increases. The expected compensation range for this position is $115,000 ‑ $150,000 per year. Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on several job‑related factors, including relevant education, depth and breadth of experience, professional certifications or licence, specialised skills aligned with the role, and internal equity considerations.
