Summary As the Senior Talent & Development Business Partner, your main responsibility is to support our manufacturing teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You provide full support in the consistent and effective implementation and application of policies, procedures, and practices of Talent and Development for all team associates within the facility. Other responsibilities include Recruitment, Training, Engagement, Employee and Labor Relations, Rewards and Recognition, Communication Plans and other tasks as required. Previous experience in a human resources manufacturing environment is mandatory. Previous experience managing a team is a great asset. This is a multi-site position and requires travel to other provinces in Western Canada. Location: Calgary, AB Salary Range: $100K - $120K Responsibilities 60% of time is spent with team members in the bakery, walking the shop floor, going to lunchroom at break and shift change time to interact and hear issues and concerns to get ahead of any situations that may arise. Actively work as a liaison between Operations and Talent and Development to ensure all Corporate projects are executed at the bakery level. Oversee fair and consistent application of all WB policies, protocols and new initiatives and communicate the details. In conjunction with all key stakeholders, problem-solve and troubleshoot any issues or challenges. Provide full support for all hourly team members. Provide full support for salary team members below the position of Operations Leader. Execute any engagement initiatives. Execute any Leadership coaching initiative. Oversees any team associate payroll issues to ensure they are resolved in a timely manner. Attend all benefit, LOA and medical meetings to ensure proper communication and support cross-functionally. In conjunction with Dedicated Program Team Leader, assists and participates in most Performance Evaluations related to team associates (agency workers) along with the appropriate Operations Managers. Assist with T&D/Operations projects as assigned. Create communication slides for Workvivo, WB 24, all communication TVs and internal communication boards. Create town hall presentation slides and attend and present at town halls. Chair Monthly Engagement Committee meetings. Create Action Plans for all engagement initiatives and ensure items are pushed upwards for approvals as required. Advocate for the culture and ensure full transparency of culture so T&D leaders can advocate and get involved as required. LABOR RELATIONS (unionized team members): Perform full investigation on any and all disciplinary issues, documenting the entire investigation by all parties. Provide full investigation notes with recommendations to Bakery Leader. Consult with Labor Relations as required when suspension level and above. Attend JLM meetings and proactively involve Labor Relations as to what the agenda may be. Track grievances. Maintain Discipline metrics annually. Attend negotiations. Navex – do full Navex investigation and system requirements within 48 hours of complaints. Sit in on disciplinary conversations and document accordingly. Draft, logistically coordinate and be present in any terminations. EMPLOYEE RELATIONS Issue any performance issue letters for salary team below the level of Leader Supervisor. Schedule and oversee execution of Coaching Program for Salary team members. Run monthly Engagement Meetings. Enter into FGF forms the engagement meeting minutes with dates. Keep Engagement metrics up to date. HRIS Have full Workday access to Operations Leader and below within the bakery. Backup to Operations Coordinator for all hourly Team Member Workday transactions to cover for vacation purposes only. Perform all Workday transactions for salary team members below the Bakery leader level within the site (add new hires, resignations, promotions, salary increases, job transfers, etc.). TALENT ACQUISITION: Post all positions internally for all hourly team member postings. Schedule, Coordinate and attend all hourly internal candidate team member interviews. Attend all salary interviews below Bakery Leader (including CI, QA: ALL salary positions with the building require full T&D support). Onboarding and Orientation for all positions within the site. Ensure IT and all personal belongings are collected and issued as required. Ensure all salary team members are scheduled in the Salary onboarding at Head Office as well as the Bakery onboarding at the site. Reviews resumes and coordinates interviews with Agencies and Operation Managers - to ensure “Key Role” candidates have the required skill set, availability and attitude to work within the appropriate plant. Works closely with Operations Managers per plant, to determine their current and upcoming Staffing needs. Oversee and communicate to agencies Wonderbrands policies, protocols and new initiatives. Inspects and audits agencies annually to ensure their commitments and records to Wonderbrands are met. Responsible for overseeing all agency communications; as well as assisting Operations Managers, Shift Leaders, Group Leaders, and Team Leaders with Team Associate employee relations. Requirements Minimum 3 years in management role within HR. Leadership/management experience required. Multi-site exposure with employment legislation. Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field. Good understanding/working knowledge of HR policies/procedures, benefits and employee relations. Proven competency in the operation of key office software and productivity tools such as MS Office and working knowledge of an HRIS. Manufacturing experience is mandatory. Food or any CPG manufacturing is an asset.
