Job Requirements Good years of enterprise DBA experience supporting Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL databases Strong hands‑on experience with Oracle Data Guard (physical/logical), switchover, and failover operations Expertise in Oracle Multitenant architecture (CDB/PDB), upgrades, and PDB lifecycle management Solid experience with MS SQL Server Always On Availability Groups and failover clustering Advanced database performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and capacity planning Experience performing database patching, minor/major upgrades, and vulnerability remediation Proven knowledge of backup and recovery tools (RMAN, SQL Server native, third-party solutions) Exposure to on‑prem to cloud database migrations and modernization initiatives Working knowledge of database security, encryption, auditing, and access management Ability to support 24x7 production environments and participate in on‑call rotations Key Responsibilities Administer and support Oracle databases using Data Guard and Multitenant (CDB/PDB) architecture Manage MS SQL Server environments including Always On, clustering, and performance baselines Ensure high availability, disaster recovery readiness, and conduct regular DR drills Proactively monitor databases and resolve availability, performance, and capacity issues Plan and execute database upgrades, patching cycles, and maintenance activities Perform database restores and recovery during incidents and unplanned outages Support application teams with deployments, schema changes, and query optimization Participate in database migration projects across on‑prem and cloud platforms Maintain operational documentation, SOPs, and runbooks Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, security, and application stakeholders Tata Consultancy Services Canada Inc. is committed to meeting the accessibility needs of all individuals in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC).
